By the policy conducted by Apple Inc. in 2021, it is prohibited for attribution platforms to store information, which could help identify the end-user. As a result, it becomes impossible to pass this information (in particular click ID, IP, User Agent) to an advertiser and as a result to get it back. The ordinary process of S2S conversions tracking on Reach is based on receiving click ID via the postback link.

Reach offers a new system of conversions tracking, which is Probabilistic Attribution.

In this article, you'll learn how to get postbacks without click ID values if you're integrated with Appsflyer, as well as with other tracking/attribution platforms.

If you use attribution platforms and work with iOS applications, it automatically concerns Apple’s policy, so you and all your publishers should use Probabilistic Attribution.

Before you begin

Set up probabilistic postback

  1. Click Campaigns in the side menu.

  2. Select a needed campaign you want to set up a probabilistic postback for, and click its title.

  3. Proceed to the Integration setup tab and open the Set up the integration section.

  4. In the Integration type drop-down, select Probabilistic attribution. A window appears.

  5. Copy the postback link in the Postback link field.

  6. Add necessary parameters by Reach. Mind the obligatory parameters.

  7. Add necessary macros from your external system.

  8. Optional. Add a secure postback code to avoid fraud on the conversion level. Do the following:

    1. Go to the Privacy & Security tab.

    2. Turn on Secure postback code.

    3. Click Generate to generate a code.

    4. Add the secure parameter with the code itself to the pixel code to ensure you receive all the conversions correctly.

  9. Optional. Add the status parameter to have conversions in a certain status. If you don't add the parameter, all conversions are registered in a default status you've set up in the Default status for conversions drop-down list on the Privacy & Security tab.

  10. Copy the full link and provide it to the external system with a side server responsible for firing the postback link.
