Tracking URL is a link which you want clicks to deliver (a target page). It can be either a direct link to the target page or a tracking URL of other tracking solution, where you want to send clicks to.

Tracking URL allows tracking clicks and information about them such as IP, country, and city which the click was made from, the device user agent of an end-user, etc. Reach extracts this information directly from a click and sends it to you. It is possible to request additional information from your publisher.

To receive information via a tracking URL, you need to add parameters from your external system and macros by Reach. Reach doesn't provide the link itself.

Tracking URL on Reach

Tracking URL is set up in the campaign: Campaigns > a certain campaign > Tracking URLs.

where:

  • ID: the tracking URL ID within a campaign. The ID is shown in the publisher's tracking link.

  • Name: the tracking URL title.

  • Tracking URL: the tracking URL itself with added parameters and macros.

  • Preview URL: the link, which the publisher can use to look at the target page. As a rule, it is the very tracking URL, but without parameters and macros.

  • Requested macros: macros which you indicated as additional ones, where you want to receive extra information from a publisher.

  • Comment: a comment visible for a publisher.

  • Menu:

    • Edit: edit your tracking URL.

    • Set as default: set the tracking URL as a default one. If a publisher used another tracking URL of the campaign, and you deleted it, traffic goes to the default tracking URL.

The tracking URL example:

http://example.com?&device_ua={adv_sub1}&rand={rand}&time={time}&city={city}&clickid={click_id}
